I’m a fellow. . .

On Friday, July 27th, 2007 I was selected to be a Fellow of the National Speleological Society. Fellows of the NSS are designated for their efforts over the years to further the goals of the Society through cave exploration, science, conservation, or administration. No more than 10 percent of the NSS members may be Fellows. The current percentage is quite a bit below 10%.

Both the Salon winner and the Fellow award were received at the NSS 2007 national convention at Marengo, Indiana. Both awards ceremonies were held about a 1/2 mile deep in the ground at the Marengo Warehouse & Distribution Center, one of america’s largest underground commercial storage facilities.
