This is a benefit art show for the Rockcastle Karst Conservancy at the Sharonville Fine Arts Center, featuring the photography of Robert Coomer. Join us on Friday, July 6th from 5 – 8 for the show’s opening reception and the chance to purchase jewelry and other fine, hand made items, crafted especially for RKC by local artisans.

Above+Below is a collection of photos and artwork by award winning photographer Robert Coomer that reveal mysterious and beautiful images from beneath the Earth’s surface and the natural beauty of forgotten rural barns and back road landscapes. The images capture the world of natural light and color and then contrasts it with a world of complete darkness, of alien shapes and forms that are rarely seen.

The Rockcastle Karst Conservancy is the only locally based 501(3)(c) non profit organization whose mission is to protect Kentucky’s karst environments and support responsible access to caves in the Rockcastle Region. Kentucky has a unique and rich heritage; part of this tradition is the enjoyment of their cave resources. Through wise stewardship and ownership we hope to allow this tradition to continue for generations to come. RKC has close ties with the Greater Cincinnati Grotto, and is the owner of Great Saltpetre Cave in Mt. Vernon Kentucky. If you have ever caved with a local scout group, you have probably been to Great Saltpetre Cave, or may have even camped there.
