Robert Coomer
Robert Coomer is an internationally recognized, award winning photographer who grew up on a farm in Brown County, Ohio. Art has always been a part of his life and in 1994 he graduated with a BS degree in Graphic Design from the UC College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning.
As a full time fine artist / photographer you can find him at an art show or art gallery most weekends during the summer. Check his schedule and gallery locations to see his work in person.
Whether shooting landscapes, wildlife, or even architecture, Robert strives to capture a sense of place, to tell a story about his subject. His images are environmental portraits that lead the viewer to wonder about the subject’s location, its history, and even its future. An overall theme of fading Americana comes through in his images, especially his urbex and rurex work, and his steel series Art in Decay.
Robert works with several non-profit caving groups and conservancies that protect karst areas in Kentucky. He is a founding / lifetime member of the Rockcastle Karst Conservancy. [rkci.org]
